Cariari Country Club takes its moniker from the indigenous name for the land on which it sits in the modern-day Puerto Limon area, found by Spaniards more than 500 years ago. Christopher Columbus himself stayed in the region for three weeks, though the country club didn't open until 1973, meaning you could likely have a more satisfying experience at Cariari than even he did.
