Costa Rica Country Club

The golf course at Costa Rica Country Club has nurtured some of the country's top golfers, who've played their rounds while taking in the panorama of the mountains. The Jaime Solera Bennett Golf Course was founded in 1940 and conceived with the characteristics of Scottish links golf courses designed by Charles Lawrence Donovan, one of the forefathers of golf course architecture. It demands persistence and precision of its players.

The blue and red tees at the Costa Rica Country Club play to 6,031 yards with a slope rating of 71.6, and the red and pink tees come in at a much shorter 5,161 yards with a slope rating of 70.2. Fairways are often short, narrow and with irregular surfaces, and putting greens play small and uneven, while sand traps run deep. Not to scare you off, but the rough is, well, tough.

That said, the Costa Rica Country Club does offer a practice area and putting green, and you might want to take advantage of those.
