The Golf Course at Hacienda Pinilla
About
The Golf Course at Hacienda Pinilla offers a 7,300-yard course designed by Mike Young. He emphasized details and conformed holes to the landscape's slopes and contours. Risk vs. reward is the game, no two rounds are alike, and watch out for those trees.
A round at The Golf Course at Hacienda Pinilla begins on a par-4 that forces you to tee left-center - keep low: it's windy - and midiron to the green, minding the pot bunker. The 14th is the longest, 601 yards, so combine muscle with wind and shoot middle before using a wood to the oblong green; as compensation for your hard work, the hole has the course's best ocean view. The 14th hole is only the longest by two yards: The 18th measures 599 yards into the wind. Drive right-center, use a wood for the second, being cautious to avoid a hidden bunker, and then short-iron to a perched green.
After all that, you'll be glad to know that the The Golf Course at Hacienda Pinilla does indeed have a 19th hole, the El Corral Turn House, which was built to blend in with the natural environment.

Great course
It was a little windy but the course was in good condition.
Did see a few monkeys in the trees as well
Once a year is enough
Decent course, hot weather, dry. If you can get a discount, it seems ok to play this course aybe one time a year.
Fine round
Greens and fairways great
Stay away from traps which are clay and rocks and unplayable
Take a free drop out and press on
Enchanting Costa Rican course
We stayed in Tamarindo in this was the closest course to the town. We played here twice and it did not disappoint it situated right on top of a JW Marriott, so you do have to get through a security gate. Once you arrive and check in at the clubhouse there is a Bar ready for you to order your favorite drink. Their practice facility is amazing as it sits right between the first one on the 10th. Lastly, the 14th and the 15th hole I have an amazing view of the Pacific Ocean you cannot miss it.
Great, layout with wide fairways, but small green targets. Course was in great shape with some bunkers being rebuilt (staff working on them)
Nice Property and Staff
Everyone was very friendly and accommodating. I’ve played it 3 times this year since it’s the closest to where we stay in Nosara. It’s never busy so you play alone unless you go with a group. The course is always in great shape and with GolfNow you and play for $60 plus club rentals of $25. Balls are expensive so bring your own or try to find the local guy who sells used ones for $20 for 2 dozen. The resort down by the water is beautiful and the food was very good.
Pinella
The course is lush and green this time of year, so it’s very playable. Ample fairways give way to challenging longer grass roughs. Keeping your ball inthe fairway in easily doable. Green contours are mostly fair to the average golfer. We will return on our next trip.
Golf by the sea
Rainy season brings out the lush greens of Costa Rican golf. Fairways get a bit mushy and the bunkers are being continually upgraded but overall the course maintenance is very good.
