Robinson designed the 6,700-yard La Iguana Golf Course to blend into its neighboring jungle, with indigenous flora such as orchids and banana trees, not to mention the fauna, including 150 bird species. Take along extra balls: One golfer apparently had his stolen right off the green on the fourth hole.

As part of the Los Suenos Marriott Ocean and Golf Resort, the La Iguana Golf Course is included in stay-and-lay packages.

Great. Course, friendly staff. Booked 3:00 pm tee time to get the reduced rate of $85. Played 3 times the last week of Feb. 2014. Was not crowded and was able to tee of each day @ 2:40. Loved the course, fairways are generous, good size greens that hold the ball very well. Highly recommend this course.

Beautiful golf course. Excellent service. I played in early October - winter in Costa Rica - but still lots of lush green, tons of flowers and birds, rain forest all around. The staff are all really great. Some of the greens were a little ripped up around the edges but generally they rolled fairly well. The course was a bit wet in some areas the second time I played but there were some heavy rains the night before. Nice layout generally. Forgiving wide fairways that let the average golfer keep it on the short stuff. I'd go back even though I found it a little pricey - high season rate that was quoted to me was $175US and I payed $120 for winter rates.
